Lowrider Culture in the United States / Cultura Lowrider en Los Estados Unidos

We are riding LOW AND SLOW in the Museum this winter! We’re partnering with the Smithsonian Institution to bring Tucson the special exhibition: “Lowrider Culture in the United States/Cultura Lowrider en Los Estados Unidos.” Opening Day is December 5, 2026, and it closes on March 7, 2027, along with locally infused photography, cars, bikes, and gear from Lowrider Car Clubs across the Old Pueblo.

A Lowrider Car Show in the Museum’s east parking lot is planned for January 16, 2026, accompanied by lowrider cars from all decades, award presentations, lowrider booths, music, dancing, children’s games and more! Car show entry is free. Entry to the Exhibition within the Museum is a special daily rate of $10.00/adults/ kids (under 18) are free.

“Lowrider Culture in the United States/ Cultura Lowrider en los Estados Unidos” is organized by the Smithsonian Institution Exhibition Services (SITES) in collaboration with the National Museum of American History. The exhibition received federal support from the Latino Initiatives Pool, administered by the National Museum of the American Latino.
