Love at First Dye with Lawrence Peters

On Saturday February 7, Lawrence Peters – Southern Arizona weaver, natural dyer, and fiber artist – will speak about his journey from media sales to an ongoing exploration of natural dyeing. Lawrence will discuss the process of eco-printing in which plant material pigments, tannins, shapes transfer / print onto silk with heat, moisture, pressure. He will also talk about what he has learned about natural dyeing including tips and techniques, and he will bring various materials he uses to make dye baths.
